Thuy Duong, born in 1977, is an artist specialized in watercolor, and residing in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
The symphony between his paintings is unmissable, his style is recognizable right away even if you've just started to see a few of them. How did he trace that?
Coming from a background of architecture, his layout is neatly geometrical, in line vertically, or horizontally. That is the case when it comes to landscapes and big city spots. During his tour in Europe, he managed to put his observation at a certain angle and started drawing on the spot. The center is the sun in the sense that he plays with the light shades (with wet-on-wet strategy) during sunset and sunrise, therefore it appears that everything else, including the perspective is revealed from it.
There's a contrast between the light and the shadow, the cold and the warm, the crowd and the peace. He uses water to manifest water or rain, blue or green for flowy waves.
In the city, the red in little details points out the liveliness of the atmosphere, therefore bringing you consciously a feeling of sympathy and familiarity, confidence and comfort. Simply full of emotions.
